Terms of use

Cards, rankings, and lineups are built from public GitHub data. A score is not a complete measure of anyone's work. Messaging and claimed profiles are extra services we operate on top of that public index.

You must use your own GitHub (and optional Google) identity. Do not create accounts for automated access, to farm searches, or to impersonate someone else. We may temporarily restrict an account when we see unusual automated activity, spam, or abuse.

You may not scrape, harvest, or bulk-download profiles, cards, search results, or other Gitwork data with bots, scripts, or similar tools. You may not bypass rate limits, CAPTCHA, or other access controls.

If you need programmatic access, use the official Gitwork API with a key we issued to you, within its rate limits and scopes. Search-engine crawlers may fetch public pages as allowed in our robots.txt.

Hire requests and messages must be genuine. Do not spam developers, send malware links, or use messaging to scrape contact details.

We may rate-limit, challenge, or temporarily restrict accounts or traffic that look automated or abusive. Restrictions usually expire on their own. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@gitwork.dev from the address on the account and include your GitHub username.
